Challenge

Call TOTL Building & DesignWhen the Barr family from Port Coquitlam came to me, then had issues that so many families have: not enough room for more than just a couple of people in the kitchen; the cabinetry colour was worn and dated; the island in the kitchen was small and the peninsula was just plain awkward! As well, the flooring was completely worn out, and the area was dark and dingy because of poor lighting.

Solution

After a full discussion on the pros and cons of various layouts, uses and products lines, the solution was to first reconfigure the footprint or layout. Next, in looking to save some money we were able to use the existing cabinets, and just refinish them. We also then painted all kitchen millwork, installed new laminate throughout the home, and finally to help with the lighting, we Installed multiple pot lights and island pendants.
